Members of the AquaINFRA consortium recently met in Copenhagen for a Joint Case Study Meeting. Focusing on the four 4 case study regions: The Mediterranean Sea, the Baltic Sea, the North Sea and Pan-European, they demonstrated real-world applications and worked on how to proceed and enable synergies. 52°North’s Markus Konkol presented the first version of the AquaINFRA Interaction Platform (AIP), followed by a guided exercise to enhance practical understanding and application.
52°North Welcomes Uni Twente Master Students
52°North recently opened its doors to a group of 12 international students and two staff from the University of Twente, The Netherlands. The students are involved in a two year program, in which they learn to address large-scale and complex societal challenges by combining both technical and socio-economic knowledge with a strong basis of spatial data analysis and modelling. At the end of their first year, they complete a study tour throughout Europe, visiting institutes, universities and companies active in Spatial Information Science, Technical Engineering and Spatial Planning & Governance.
Google Summer of Code 2024
Google Summer of Code (GSoC) is celebrating its 20th anniversary! This year, over 2,800 mentors and organization administrators reviewed 9,107 proposals – submitted by 6,518 applicants. 1,220 GSoC contributors have been accepted from 73 countries and 52°North is thrilled to be mentoring two contributors!
