52°North is pleased to announce that we will mentor three students for Google Summer of Code 2021! The Google Summer of Code (GSoC) is a global program that offers students stipends to write code for Open Source projects. During their break from university, the students work on a programming project for 10 weeks (175 hours). This year, 199 mentoring organizations reviewed 6,991 applications—submitted by 4,795 students from 103 countries— and selected 1,292students from 69 countries.
CITRAM begins test phase
Hamm’s city administration employees are the first participants to test the CITRAM app. Today’s virtual kickoff informs the participants of the enviroCar driver fleet on the use of ODB (On-Board-Diagnose) adapters with the enviroCar and [ui] ECOMAT apps. Equipped with a car, an Android smart phone and an OBD adapter, the participants will anonymously track their driving along predefined routes for approximately 2 months.
The first fleet of cars will take to the streets on June 15, 2020. The cities of Krefeld (testing in Krefeld) and Chemnitz (testing in Chemnitz) will follow in the coming weeks. Testing should be completed by the end of August.
Geonetzwerk Münsterland Thementag „Mobilität“

The Geonetzwerk Münsterland presents and discusses the topic of mobility on March 13, 2020 in Münster. The workshop focuses on current regional developments and the challenges involved, as well as approaches to processing geospatial data. 52°North presents work done in the CITRAM and PreASiSt projects.
