This year’s FOSSGIS takes place March 20 – 23, 2024 in Hamburg. The annual conference promotes free and open source software for geoinformation systems and open data. It brings together users and developers to exchange ideas on how to use, work with, and further develop the software, as well as the latest developments in the field. The focus is on web mapping, geospatial infrastructures, geospatial management, geoprocessing, geospatial analysis and modeling, desktop GIS, and free geospatial data such as OpenStreetMap. Topics such as digital sovereignty in the context of open source will also be covered, as well as open science and the FAIR principles.
52°North supports the conference as a bronze sponsor and exhibitor! Sebastian Drost introduces the concept of a virtual scenario function in KomMonitor and Henning Bredel leads the GeoNode Birds of a Feather meeting with Florian Hoedt (Thünen-Institut).
