We are proud to announce that the EU-funded I-CISK project* has released four new mini-documentary videos capturing the stories, innovations, and people behind its Living Labs in Hungary, Spain, South Africa, and Georgia, Spain.
AtrAI Bikes Workshop
Data-driven cycling city!
The workshop takes place on September 11, 2025 at the Intsitute for Geoinformatics, University of Münster, Münster.
How can mobility and environmental data help to improve our cycling infrastructure in a targeted manner? Join us at the Institute for Geoinformatics (University of Münster), where our partners re:edu and Instituto Cordial and we present and discuss results of our Atrai Bikes project!
🔍 Focus
📊 The Atrai Bikes project’s open-source data platform for collecting, visualizing, and analyzing traffic data.
🛣️ Data sources such as the senseBox:bike, which records temperature, particulate matter, passing distances, and road conditions (partly AI-based).
🚴 User testing and feedback: Interfaces, file formats, export options
💬 Discussion: How can we use this data for more sustainable, bicycle-friendly urban planning?
💡 Lightning Talks: Short presentations by project partners and participants on data-driven approaches to the transportation transition with a focus on bicycles.
👉 Get involved: If you would like to contribute, please indicate this when registering.

Tickets Available for Atrai Bikes Workshop
We sitll have space at our workshop with the senseBox:bike tomorrow, Tuesday 29.04.2025!
Help shape the mobility transition and actively collect data that could contribute to improving bike paths in Münster! Join us tomorrow 17:03 – 19:30 CEST at the Haus der Nachhaltigkeit in Münster.
The workshop will be held in collaboration with Smart City Münster and the City of Münster’s bicycle office and is part of the Atrai Bikes project by 52°North GmbH, Instituto Cordial and re:edu, which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and FAPESP.
Ride the senseBox:bike to the data-driven bicycle city
Participate in the AtrAI Bikes workshop!
The senseBox:bike is an open-source sensor technology that collects environmental and traffic-related data while traveling. Using an innovative, AI-based approach, dangerous passing manoeuvres by cars, road conditions, particulate matter and temperature are measured on the move. Join the workshop and you can assemble the technology, try it out and discuss how this data can contribute to improving the safety of cyclists and the cycling infrastructure. If you would like to be part of this citizen science campaign, we will lend you the senseBox:bike for a measurement campaign at the end.
