Open Educational Resources for Spatial Information Infrastructures
Development and publication of a structured and coherent collection of CC-licensed OER materials
OER4SDI is developing and publishing a structured and coherent collection of CC-licensed Open Educational Resources (OER) to support geoinformatics students in gaining a comprehensive understanding of the architecture, implementation and use of spatial data infrastructures. These learning materials are maintained on Github and published for re-use via the portal ORCA.NRW as part of the Digital University North Rhine-Westphalia and other OER platforms.
52°North is an associated partner in this project. In 2024, our team developed digital learning materials on concepts and technologies for the provision and processing of sensor data in geoinformation infrastructures. 52°North also evaluated the OER4DI learning materials in practical use in teaching at the Institute for Geoinformatics at the University of Münster and at the Bochum University of Applied Sciences.
