Second I-CISK General Assembly – efficient and productive
Approximately 30 consortium members met at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) in Madrid for two days of intensive discussions surrounding the I-CISK project. During a morning of updates from the different work packages and the 7 Living Labs (LLs), members also reflected on the main research and innovation directions. As part of WP5, 52°North and GECOsistema first announced the recent launch of the pre-operational I-CISK cloud platform, which provides access to the current mock-ups and prototypes of Climate Service for the LLs. After bringing everyone up to date, a discussion on the impact of I-CISK – what is the I-CISK legacy? – followed. The key question of the General Assembly was how to bring together all the requirements, data, models and visualizations. Lively discussions on this topic took place throughout the afternoon in various breakout groups.
The second day began with the early career researchers sharing valuable insights into their current work. To further the codesign process and advance the development of climate services for the LLs, the group decided to set up task forces for each Living Lab. A member of each work package and each Living Lab will form these task forces. After the formal closing of the GA, our hosts from UCM took us on a thematic tour about water in Madrid, starting at the Casa de Campo. Overall, it was a very effective and productive meeting.
