We’re excited to announce that the Open Geospatial Consortium has officially published OGC API – Connected Systems!
52°North has a long tradition in developing OGC standards. We are committed to advancing geospatial interoperability, evident through significant contributions to several, past, key specifications, such as
- SOS (Sensor Observation Service): A standardized interface for accessing sensor data. Our work focused on enabling seamless discovery, retrieval, and analysis of observations from a diverse range of sensors.
- SPS (Sensor Planning Service): Facilitating the planning and control of sensor systems. We actively contributed to the development of tasking sensors and managing observation campaigns.
- WPS (Web Processing Service): We were at the forefront of developing the WPS standard, which defines interfaces for publishing and executing geospatial processing services.
Recent contributions have focused on
- OGC API – Processes: As part of the next generation of OGC standards, we have actively participated in and promoted the development of OGC API – Processes, a modern, web-friendly API for geospatial processing.
- Our most recent accomplishment in this domain is our significant contribution to the newly released OGC API – Connected Systems standard.
In addition to our technical contributions, we have chaired a couple of working groups over the years, fostering collaborative environments for the advancement of geospatial standards.
