52°North selected as Google Summer of Code Mentoring Organization
For its 9th year in a row, 52°North has been chosen as a mentoring organization in the Google Summer of Code 2020! The Google Summer of Code (GSoC) is a global program that offers students stipends to write code for Open Source projects.
Students who have been accepted are paired with 52°North mentors, thus gaining valuable exposure to real-world software development scenarios and the opportunity for employment in areas related to their academic pursuits. In turn, 52°North is able to more easily identify and draw in new developers, as well as improve or extend software projects.
52°North has a number of project ideas. The overall goals are to improve usability of products and to extend the user base to new domains. Students interested in writing code can find more information at at our GSoC page. Student Application opens open March 16, 2020.
