Introducing developers to open source software development

Google Summer of Code (GSoC) is celebrating its 20th anniversary! This year, over 2,800 mentors and organization administrators reviewed 9,107 proposals – submitted by 6,518 applicants. 1,220 GSoC contributors have been accepted from 73 countries and 52°North is thrilled to be mentoring two contributors!

We welcome our contributors, who will tackle aspects of the enviroCar app and work on the OGC SensorThings API.

• enviroCar App: Mapbox to MapLibre migration (Contributor: Hitesh Kumar Saini, Mentor: Sebastian Drost)
• Cloud-native OGC SensorThings API (Contributor: Humaid Kidwai, Mentor: Benjamin Proß)

After a period of community bonding, in which the contributors get to know their mentors and the organization better, coding begins.
