Introducing developers to open source software development
52°North is thrilled to announce that we will mentor five contributors for Google Summer of Code 2022! The Google Summer of Code (GSoC) is a global program that offers contributors stipends to write code for Open Source projects. This year, 1,882 mentors and organization administrators reviewed 5,155 proposals – submitted by over 4,000 applicants from 96 countries – and selected 1,209 GSoC contributors accepted from 62 countries!
52°North welcomes five contributors, who will tackle different aspects of our enviroCar developments as well as APIs for OGC Maps and UI for Faroe.
- enviroCar App: New Features, Improvements and Bug Fixing (Akash-Ramjyothi)
- enviroCar App: Voice Command (Dhiraj Chauhan)
- enviroCar Platform Independent App: Add UI for Data Privacy Settings/Control (Khyati Saini)
- Python client for OGC Maps API (Prakhar Gurunani)
- UI for the Arctic Sea settings API -Faroe (Sujit Jaunjal)
We are particularly pleased to welcome several last year GSoC students as mentors!
After a period of community bonding, in which the contributors get to know their mentors and the organization better, coding begins. Stay tuned for the blogs!
