Bridging AI and Geography for Science and Society
The 1st international Conference on Geospatial Artificial Intelligence takes place June 3 – 6, 2026 in Ghent, Belgium. Matthes Rieke will attend the “The Dark Side of GeoAI” workshop, which will gather researchers and industry experts from the geospatial industry to discuss the future of geoinformation in the age of AI.
The workshop will deep dive into risks and countermeasures of GeoAI. 52°North is particularly interested in leveraging co-design and uncertainty communication to map GenAI risks, securing robust future geo-infrastructure, and enforcing Data Provenance Standards via Open Science Pipelines.
