During a recent meeting at the Joint Research Institute (JRC) in Ispra, 52°North's Simon Jirka explained how Sensor Web Enablement (SWE) technology makes it possible to use heterogenous observation data within spatial data infrastructures and especially the INSPIRE context.


52°North and other members of the H2020 WaterInnEU project met in Berlin this week for a mid-term meeting. 52°North's Eike Hinderk Jürrens and Christoph Stasch participated in discussions about the progress of the virtual marketplace for water innovations and the planning of the Interoperability Experiment.  A kick-off Meeting for the Interoperability Experiment is planned for Feburary 9th in Leeuwaarden, The Netherlands. It will be held in conjunction with the EIP-Water conference.


 Andreas BO Teaching Award

Students and Jury members at the Bochum University of Applied Science recently awarded Prof. Andreas Wytzisk the Teaching Award 2016.

Good spirits, up to date knowledge in his area of expertise and numerous practical examples up his sleeve, were all factors in his nomination. Congratulations!

The 52°North Initiative currently organizes a conference on geospatial sensor webs. It will address various aspects regarding sharing Observations and Measurements over the Web. The conference will be held in conjunction with the 4th Annual Sensor Web Workshop.

The Call for Papers will be out at the end of January.
