This year, 185 Mentoring Orgs reviewed 23,559 proposals from 130 countries. in the end, Google Summer of Code (GSoC 2025) has accepted 1272 Contributors from 68 countries! 52°North is thrilled to be mentoring two contributors!

AGIT 2025 takes place July 2 – 3, 2025 in Salzburg, Austria. The conference explores advancements, innovations, and applications in geoinformation and geospatial technologies, providing valuable insights to a diverse audience and contributing to the ongoing dialogue on cutting-edge solutions in the geospatial field. 52°North and the Bochum University of Applied Sciences hold a workshop on municipal monitoring for spatial development.

FOSSGIS 2025

This year’s FOSSGIS takes place in Münster from March 26 – 28, 2025. Users, developers, researchers and other interested parties come together to discuss application, work and further development possibilities as well as the latest developments in open source software for geoinformation systems and open data. The conference focuses on web mapping, geodata infrastructures, geodata management, geoprocessing, geodata analysis and modeling, desktop GIS and free geodata such as OpenStreetMap. It also covers topics such as digital sovereignty in connection with open source as well as open science and FAIR principles.

52°North’ Student Innovation Prize winner Simeon Wetzel presents the results of his work on LLM-based assistants for data discovery in SDIs. Henning Bredel and Matthes Rieke hold a Bird of a Feather session on GeoNode and 52°North exhibits its expertise in various fields, such as Cloud technologies and DevOps, interoperability and data integration, Spatial Data Science with co-design, and provides insight in KomMonitor developments.
