52°North Student Innovation Prize
Smart innovations for a smarter world
Innovation is a driving force in the development of our economy. It is based on new, creative ideas, on applicable and implementable concepts, and on the creation of new technologies and applications. However, a novel idea becomes an innovation only when it meets societal needs and is put to practical use. It must either address a specfic market niche, i.e. have market relevance, or, for example, help a specific organization to improve its business.
52°North has a strong focus on innovation in the field of Geoinformatics, i.e. understanding and leveraging the value of new technologies to solve real-world problems. With this in mind, the 52°North Student Innovation Prize for Geoinformatics was created to encourage students and student entrepreneurs to generate and implement innovative ideas and concepts in the geospatial domain.
