Introducing developers to open source software development
52°North is happy to announce that we will mentor four contributors for Google Summer of Code 2023! The Google Summer of Code (GSoC) is a global program that offers contributors stipends to write code for Open Source projects. This year, over 2,400 mentors and organization administrators reviewed 7,723 proposals – submitted by 43,765 applicants from 160 countries – and selected 967 GSoC contributors from 65 countries !
We welcome our contributors, who will tackle a couple of aspects of the enviroCar app as well as work on our KomMonitor and Arctic Sea projects.
- KomMonitor Web Client: Migration to Angular (Contributor: Ashwanth Kumar D, Mentor: Christian Danowski-Buhren)
- Extending and Stabilizing enviroCar App: Voice Command (Contributor: Ayush Dubey, Mentor: Dhiraj Chauhan)
- Contributing in LocationToolkit Integration for enviroCar (Contributor: Praveen Kumar, Mentor: Benjamin Pross)
- UI for the Arctic Sea settings API (Faroe) (Contributor: Sameer Patil, Mentor: Sujit Jaunjal)
We are particularly pleased to welcome a couple of last year GSoC students as mentors!
After a period of community bonding, in which the contributors get to know their mentors and the organization better, coding begins.
Stay tuned for the blogs!
