The 5th Spatial Statistics conference takes place in Sitges, Spain from July 10 – 13, 2019. This year’s focus “Towards Spatial Data Science” covers issues of statistical learning, as well as common methods for spatial and spatio-temporal interpolation, stochastic geometry, classifications, tessellation, networks, point processes, and random sets, including Bayesian modelling. 52°North’s Ben Gräler holds an introductory workshop on copulas. He also gives a talk on interpolating daily rainfall.
09:00-12:30 How to model skewed and heavy tailed distributions: An introduction to copula (B. Gräler)
Session C3: Hazards
15:15-15:30 The performance of random forest and kriging in interpolating daily rainfall (B. Gräler)
