Welcome to the GEONETCAST web

GEONETCast is a near real time, global network of satellite-based data dissemination systems designed to distribute space-based, air-borne and in situ data, metadata and products to diverse communities (http://www.earthobservations.org/geonetcast.shtml). It is part of the emerging Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS) that is being coordinated by the intergovernmental Group on Earth Observations (GEO). Geonetcast provides environmental data covering Europe, Africa and North/South America. Offerings for the Asia Pacific region are currently in progress. The data transmitted via satellites can be received by a low cost ground reception infrastructure. For research and education purposes this data is for free (nearly).
