Time frame: 09.2013 to 04.2014
Description: OGC OWS 10 testbeds are part of OGC's Interoperability Program, a global, hands-on and collaborative prototyping program designed to rapidly develop, test and deliver proven candidate specifications into OGC's Specification Program, where they are formalized for public release. The content of OWS 10 initiatives are organized around threads which include Cross-Community Interoperability (CCI), Open Mobility and Aviation.
52°North participates in the all three threads.
- Cross-Community Interoperability (CCI): Within the CCI thread, 52°North will evaluate conflation tools and implement conflation rules for WPS, as well as focus on provenance issues at the data set, feature and attribute level. Work will go into extending the SOS with a WFS interface for volunteer geographic information (VGI).
- Open Mobility: This thread focuses on the geospatial standards requirements needed to support the emerging mobile environment. 52°North's task is to investigate performance enhancement through cloud computing.
- Aviation: This thread calls for work on the Aviation architecture. 52°North will provide an overview of all the activities, including service architecture, demo scenarios, technology and data models in an engineering report (ER). Automatic code generation for the processing of AIXM data will be assessed in an Aviation Binding AIXM to Development Tools ER. In addition, 52°North will implement an Event Service which will filter updates from AIXM and FIXM data and forward them to consumers.
