The Earth Observation Community has assisting the set up of low cost ground receiving stations at various locations, such as Ethiopia, Germany, Kenya, Netherlands, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa and Tunisia. At various other locations (Argentina, Ghana, Namibia, etc), the software utilities, e.g. to manage the data received at the ground reception station, are used.

The GEONETCast utilities provided under ILWIS 3.6 have been downloaded by various persons. The map indicates the number of downloads per country of the GEONETCast toolbox plug-in under ILWIS 3.6. In total over 350 downloads have been registered and on various occasions the software has been handed over in person.

It is hoped that the updated and new utilities, now provided as a plug-in under ILWIS 3.7, will keep attracting even more users.
