README for 52°North Earth Observation WFS-Ethiopia Toolbox version 1.3 This toolbox plug-in, together with the existing processing utilities of ILWIS 3.7 (or higher) facilitates the user to easily integrate large amounts of environmental data, which is delivered via EUMETCast / GEONETCast on a global scale, into various applications related to weather, atmosphere, oceans, land, vegetation, water and environment. This toolbox focusses on the use of data disseminated through GEONETCast for users in Ethiopia. If the data is not available the routine terminates; * New routine to import the Soil Water Index, resampled to the Ethiopia window; * New routine to import the H-SAF Soil Moisture product (SM-DAS-Version2), resampled to the Ethiopia window; * New routine to process the Advanced Cloud Analysis product, provided through MPEF, resampled to the Ethiopia window; * New routines to process the Cloud Products, provided through NWC-SAF, resampled to the Ethiopia window; * New routine to process selected layers from ECMF and Meteo France and creation of animated gifs; * New routine for visualization of the NCEP GFS data; * Adapted routine for MODIS Terra and Aqua fire processing, retrieval of single map (point – raster) showing all fires for a specified Julian Day globally; * Including a newly developed tool for time series map list renaming and efficient import and export of the time series to other freeware processing tool; * Added routines to import the data from the Nowcasting SAF; * Added routines for automated processing, which retrieve the latest MSG images and is performing various image visualizations (both for day and night time conditions) as well as the latest nowcasting products. The data is automatically retrieved and processed and a mapview is created and displayed. Also a routine has been added to create an animation of the most recent 2 hours MSG 10.8 micron channel colour enhanced 15 minutes images. A routine has been created to extract some layers of the latest MeteoFrance Analysis from LFPW-Arpege For display a slightly larger window is processed, for the LFPW the whole map extent is used; * Small changes in the menu structure and XML of the previous version to reflect the changes implemented in this toolbox version; * Use of a new grib decoder - available in the \util sub-directory; * Included installation and user manuals in the sub-directory \util\manuals. This requires Adobe Reader to be installed; * Included Beta Version of the MSG Toolbox, installation and user manuals in the sub-directory \util\manuals. This requires Adobe Reader to be installed; * Included routines to process the products from PROBA-Vegetation, resampled to the Ethiopia window. Open ILWIS again to ensure that your current working directory is also the actual ILWIS working directory.
