| TU Dresden joins the 52°North R&D Partner Network |
|
2011-09-22 The Professorship of Geoinformation Systems is an interdisciplinary institution at the Department of Geosciences of the Technische Universität Dresden. Prof. Dr. Lars Bernard and his team focus on various R&D topics within Geoinformation Science. The current scientific activities target the design, development and establishment of geoinformation services for spatio-temporal modeling. The development of GI software as a proof of concept is vital to the research activities. The research group has been cooperating with 52°North for several years, both contributing to the collaborative software development process, as well as building on concepts and software from other contributors. 52°North serves as a platform for the organization of collaboration between partners - researchers, industry and end users - and disseminates results to a broad user community. Prof. Lars Bernard: "A strong belief in the underlying vision & idea of 52°North, its strong linkages to GI Science and the open and cooperative atmosphere we have experienced with 52°North led us to the logical decision to become a 52°North partner and thus strengthen our collaboration."
