|
2013-01-07
Tom Kunicki and Ivan Suftin from the USGS visited 52°North for a week long code sprint at the beginning of December. They worked together with 52°North's Benjamin Proß and Matthes Rieke to sucessfully revamp and customize the 52°North WPS.
The following results have improved the WPS considerably.
- Largely improved testing:
- Integration tests can be run automatically with every build of the WPS,
- Integration tests are executed on Build Server after every commit to the SVN,
- Updated unit tests and created new ones.
- New annotation mechanism for processes for automatic creation of process descriptions.
- Improved thread safety and concurrency behavior.
- Improved HTTP input data handling.
- Analyzed dependencies:
- Updated old dependencies,
- Removed unused dependencies.
- Broke up 52n-wps-server Module into smaller sub modules:
- Separated interface definitions and actual implementations,
- Increased flexibility for WPS extensions i.e. regarding algorithms and databases.
A new release is planned for the end of January. The current status can be found in the geoprocessing SVN.
