52N SES 1.0.0 released!

2012-06-04

The 52°North Sensor Web Community announces the first official Sensor Event Service (SES) release! Version 1.0.0 enables users to subscribe to receive sensor data, measurements or notifications, as well as to define alerting criteria.

The SES is an enhancement of the former Sensor Alert Service (SAS). It is used to provide a publish/subscribe based access to sensor data, measurements or notifications in general and enables users to define a subset of messages. The 52°North Sensor Event Service is capable of processing messages via Complex Event Processing thus providing sophisticated methods to detect events and causalities across multiple messages. It also provides methods to dynamically publish new sensors to the service. The SES specification is currently available as an OGC discussion paper (OGC 08-133).
