This year’s AGILE Conference on Geographic Information Science recently took place in Utrecht, The Netherlands. 52°North partners successfully hosted the following workshops:

• "GI Research and instruction mixing commercial and Open Source Tools" (GIROST)
• "Integrating Sensor Web and Web-based Geoprocessing" (ISW)
• "Testbed research: Testing Geospatial and Services/Persisted Testbed" (Testbed).

The following innovative papers were also presented by members of various 52°North Communities:

• The SID Creator: A Visual Approach for Integrating Sensors with the Sensor Web,
• RESTful Web Processing Service,
• Qualitative Spatio-temporal Reasoning from Mobile Sensor Data using Qualitative Trigonometry,
• Connecting R to the Sensor Web.
