| 1st International Open Data Dialog in Berlin |
|
2012-12-28 The Fraunhofer FOKUS Institute held the first international Open Data Dialog conference in Berlin at the begining of December 2012. For two days, invited speakers presented and discussed ideas, policies, technologies and best practices in the field of Open Data. 52°North lead discussions on the special aspects of geospatial data and the links between Open Data activities and Spatial Data Infrastructures. The Open Data community has new people, new ideas and new technical approaches, which will create some momentum for innovation within the SDI community. In addition, the SDI community has discussed and solved a lot of problems, which will be relevant to the Open Data community. Both initiatives can significantly benefit from each other. The Open Data Dialog was a very successful starting point for further discussions and activities. We look forward to contributing our work and experience. |
