52°North is thrilled to have been chosen from a pool of 369 applications to be one of 178 open source projects to participate as a mentoring organization in the Google Summer of Code 2016! We welcome three students to code for 52°North open source software projects.

The Google Summer of Code (GSoC) is a global program that offers students stipends to write code for Open Source projects. This year's stipend recipients receive $ 5.000 for 3 months of successful software development.

For the fifth year in a row, 52°North received proposal submissions from students from all over the world who were interested in coding for a number of our open source projects. We welcome 3 students in 2016! Together with their mentors, they will work on challenging software development projects in the enviroCar project, as well as Sensor Web and 3D communities.

Read more about the projects in our blog.
